Rip and crosscut. Precision work with one saw.
A compact dozuki (back saw) with an easy-to-handle 180mm blade. The 0.3mm thin blade carries a rip-cut tooth pattern yet handles both rip cuts and crosscuts, which makes it a natural for dovetails and other joinery where the cutting direction changes. Cuts material up to about 35 to 40mm thick: ordinary lumber, decking, hard woods such as ebony and rosewood, and MDF or acrylic.
Features and specs
Rip and crosscut with one blade. The Universal's defining feature: a rip tooth pattern that also crosscuts cleanly. Suited to precise work where the direction of the cut changes, dovetail joints above all.
0.3mm thin blade. The thin blade allows delicate, precise cuts for joinery, trim, furniture and instrument making. Cutting depth is roughly 35 to 40mm.
Hard woods and resins too. The rip tooth pattern has strong cutting power: general lumber, deck boards, ebony, rosewood, MDF, acrylic and more.
180mm, easy to maneuver. A short blade for tight spaces and fine work. Compact to store and to carry to the job.
Maple and cherry grip. The grip is laminated from two woods of different tone, maple and cherry, so the layers form a natural stripe. Natural wood in the hand, and a tool worth owning.
Antique-finish blade screw. The screw that locks the blade has an aged finish. With the wood grip it gives the saw a quiet, antique feel: cutting performance first, but the feel and finish of the details too.

Razorsaw ZA 240, Limited Middle Grip
Razorsaw's signature thin-blade series, now with a limited-edition middle grip.
The ZA is the thin-blade series that stands for Razorsaw. This limited middle-grip version keeps the 0.3mm blade and its fast, clean cut, and shortens the grip by about 30% so the saw handles easily near walls and in tight spaces. The rounded tip teeth let you start a cut in the middle of a flat panel, for window and opening cuts.
Features and specs
Fast, clean cuts, the thin-blade way. A long spine holds the thin blade firmly. Let the weight of the saw work and pull in rhythm: quick cutting and a clean cut face. Also recommended for finish carpentry where accuracy counts.
Rounded tip teeth for plunge cuts. The tip carries a rounded (R) tooth profile, so the saw can start a cut from the middle of a flat surface, which an ordinary saw struggles to do. Ideal for cutting openings in a panel. Combined with the ZA thin blade, it supports delicate work.
Grip about 30% shorter. Compared with the standard TPE grip, the overall grip length is about 30% shorter. Easier to handle near walls and in cramped spots where a long handle gets in the way. Sharpness unchanged, handling lighter.
